I'm a Professor of Earth Sciences and Collegewide Discipline Manager for Earth Sciences at Eastern Florida State College specializing in transforming complex scientific ideas into clear, accessible learning experiences. My passion is helping first-time learners strengthen their scientific literacy, develop critical thinking skills, and engage as informed citizens thus empowering them to make decisions that benefit both their lives and society..

I have served in the US Coast Guard, worked as a Field Biologist in the Plumas National Forest (CA), worked as an Aquaculturist in the Indian River Lagoon (FL), and accumulated numerous, diverse experiences in managing both projects and people.

As an Environmental Scientist, I've worked in the areas of water quality, trophic state analysis, and groundwater-surfacewater interactions, currently serving as a member of the IRL-NEP/STEM-AC, the National Estuary Program's Indian River Lagoon Science, Technology, Engineering, & Modeling Advisory Committee.

I'm a life-long learner and currently a graduate student pursuing an MA in Rhetoric & Composition at University of Central Florida.

I'm a Florida Master Naturalist certified through the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences.

I'm the owner of Space Coast Nature, a provider of professional ecotourism and environmental education services on Florida's Space Coast.

I'm a musician and owner of FunknJam Productions so if it's the weekend you might find me playing or working with various musicians.
